{"id":425,"date":"2011-09-29T19:07:59","date_gmt":"2011-09-30T02:07:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lindacollison.com\/blog\/?p=425"},"modified":"2011-09-29T19:10:38","modified_gmt":"2011-09-30T02:10:38","slug":"works-in-progress-the-challenge-is-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/works-in-progress-the-challenge-is-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Works in progress, the challenge is on!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve changed the working title of <em>Book Three of the Patricia MacPherson Nautical Adventure Series<\/em> to <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/lindacollison.com\/yankeemoon.htm\">Yankee Moon<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Am writing from multiple points of view which is very liberating.\u00a0\u00a0Lot&#8217;s of conflict as Patricia finds herself wound up in the affairs of the colonists right when Parliament is imposing the Stamp Act.\u00a0 Then along comes His Majesty&#8217;s frigate, <em>Richmond <\/em>and Brian Dalton&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m also editing a novel I wrote back in 2007 during <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nanowrimo.org\/eng\/node\/3912426\">NaNoWriMo<\/a>\u00a0(National Novel Writing Month), which if you&#8217;re not familiar is a worldwide novel writing fest that takes place every November.\u00a0 The point of it is to challenge you to\u00a0get the\u00a0novel you&#8217;ve been thinking about down on paper in <em>thirty days<\/em>.\u00a0 You just write the the whole bloody mess.\u00a0 It ain&#8217;t pretty, but it&#8217;s ALIVE!\u00a0\u00a0It has heart and bones, it just needs a little flesh and time to mature.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The working title for my 2007 NaNoWriMo novel is &#8220;<strong>Looking for Redfeather<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0 It is contemporary fiction, a road trip story, and since part of it takes place in Arizona, now is the perfect time for me to be adding some telling detail, stuck as I am in Tucson for the next few months.\u00a0 Besides &#8212; the characters were banging to get out of the computer file, so I&#8217;ve let them loose and all hell has broken out.\u00a0 But I love these kids, let&#8217;s go with it.<\/p>\n<p>Writing like crazy in two different centuries, and lovin&#8217; it!\u00a0 Who says you can&#8217;t time travel?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve changed the working title of Book Three of the [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[85],"tags":[93],"class_list":["post-425","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-writing-and-publishing","tag-nanowrimo"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/425","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=425"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/425\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":429,"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/425\/revisions\/429"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=425"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=425"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/madhatdesign.com\/newsite\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=425"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
