author, publisher and senior editor of <a href=\"http:\/\/fireshippress.com\/\">Fireship Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year Dr. Grundner, better known to all asTom, found me through the help of David Hayes&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historicnavalfiction.com\/\">Historic Naval Fiction<\/a> and expressed great interest in my unpublished novel <em>Surgeon&#8217;s Mate; <\/em>a historical novel I had written as a sequel to <em>Star-Crossed<\/em> (Knopf;
