\"1422813_10202691951928752_195430826_n\"<\/a> I have a hard time developing a “platform” as a writer because I don’t stick to one genre.\u00a0 Instead, I time-hop from past to present to future.<\/p>\n

I’ve just published a new short story. \u00a0 Holiday on Planet Jolieterre; a Nova Skylar Space Nurse Adventure<\/a>\u00a0 is available in electronic format on Smashwords<\/a>\u00a0 for 99 cents.<\/p>\n

This space opera satire was inspired by a Mediterranean cruise Bob and I took last year aboard Independence of the Seas<\/em>,\u00a0 along with fellow writer Margaret Muir (who will guest post here on Monday).\u00a0 I used my nursing background to create the protagonist, Nurse Nova Skylar, a hermaphrodite from planet Skeksio.<\/p>\n

I LOVE the cover design by Albert Roberts, who also designed the covers for Friday Night Knife and Gun Club<\/a>, and Looking for Redfeather<\/a>.\u00a0 Albert is a very talented graphic artist who also plays a ship surgeon aboard HMS Acasta<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Holiday on Planet Jolieterre<\/em> takes place in the distant future on board a cruise ship, Looking for Redfeather<\/em> takes place on the road in the 21st century,\u00a0 and the Patricia MacPherson Nautical Adventures<\/em> take place in the 18th century.<\/p>\n

In spite of the diverse settings and time periods, I strive to create interesting, believable characters.\u00a0 What’s your favorite setting?<\/p>\n
